English version

GameN.Pro publishes video game reviews, previews, news, guides and industry coverage for Vietnamese readers. Our reviews are written by editors and contributors with experience in game journalism, criticism and long-term coverage of the video game industry.

This Review Policy explains how GameN.Pro evaluates games, assigns scores, discloses review conditions and converts its 5-point score system for international reference.

Editorial independence

GameN.Pro reviews are based on the independent judgment of our editorial team. Publishers, developers, PR agencies, advertisers, distributors or platform holders do not control our review conclusions, scores or publication timing, except for agreed embargo dates.

Receiving a review code, preview access, press build, promotional material or any other form of review access does not guarantee coverage, a positive review or a specific score.

GameN.Pro does not sell review scores. We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review, a guaranteed score or a changed verdict.

Review copies and disclosure

GameN.Pro may review games using review codes provided by publishers, developers, distributors or PR agencies. We may also review games purchased by our editorial team.

When a review code or review access is provided by a third party, we disclose this in the review whenever appropriate. Our editorial opinion remains independent regardless of how access to the game was obtained.

Reviewed platform and version

Each GameN.Pro review should clearly identify the reviewed platform, such as PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, iOS or Android.

When relevant, we may also mention the game version, review build, patch status, server condition or hardware used during the review process. This is especially important for PC games, online games, mobile games, early access titles and live-service games.

Review process

Our reviewers are expected to spend enough time with a game to make a fair editorial judgment. The required playtime depends on the genre, structure and scope of the game.

For story-driven games, reviewers should experience a meaningful portion of the campaign and, when possible, complete the main story. For multiplayer, live-service, MMO, sports, racing, roguelike, simulation and mobile games, reviewers should spend enough time with the main systems, progression, monetization model and online features to evaluate the experience responsibly.

If a review is based on limited access, early access, beta access or a pre-release build, this will be made clear in the article.

Official scoring system

GameN.Pro uses a 0-5 review score scale as the official score displayed on our website.

For international reference, including review databases and score aggregators, GameN.Pro also provides a 100-point equivalent. This conversion is based on a direct 5-point to 100-point scale.

The 100-point equivalent is not a separate score. It is a conversion of the official GameN.Pro score.

Score guide

5/5 – Exceptional

A landmark title with outstanding execution and lasting value. A game at this level represents one of the strongest examples of its genre or release year. Very few games receive this score.

4.5/5 – Excellent

An excellent game with clear strengths, strong execution and only minor issues that do not significantly affect the overall experience.

4/5 – Great

A strong and highly recommendable game. It may have noticeable flaws, but its strengths clearly outweigh its weaknesses.

3.5/5 – Good

A good game that delivers a worthwhile experience, but has enough limitations in design, content, performance or execution to prevent it from reaching a higher level.

3/5 – Mixed

A game with some valuable ideas or enjoyable parts, but also major flaws that affect the overall experience.

2.5/5 – Weak

A below-average game that may appeal to a limited audience, but is difficult to recommend broadly.

2/5 – Poor

A game with serious problems in design, performance, content or execution.

1.5/5 and below – Very poor

A game with severe issues that significantly damage the experience. These scores are used for games that are technically broken, poorly designed or extremely difficult to recommend.

Review score and editorial judgment

The final score is not a mathematical average of separate categories. It is an editorial judgment based on the overall quality of the game, including gameplay, design, technical performance, visual and audio presentation, content value, innovation, accessibility, stability and long-term appeal when relevant.

Different genres require different evaluation methods. A story-driven RPG, a competitive shooter, a mobile gacha game, a racing simulator and a live-service title should not be judged by the exact same criteria.

Score updates and corrections

A review score reflects the game at the time of publication. GameN.Pro does not change review scores because of external pressure from publishers, developers, PR agencies, communities or advertisers.

A score may be corrected only when there is a clear factual error, publishing error, technical mistake or exceptional post-launch change that makes an update necessary. Any meaningful update should be disclosed in the article.

Reviews of early access games, live-service games and major expansions may be handled separately when the product changes substantially over time.

Conflicts of interest

Writers should not review games when they have a personal, financial or professional relationship that could compromise editorial independence.

If a potential conflict exists, GameN.Pro may assign the review to another writer or disclose the situation when appropriate.

Sponsored content and advertising

Sponsored content, advertising and partner content, when published, must be clearly separated from editorial reviews.

Sponsored content does not influence GameN.Pro review scores.
